Zanzu is a website that informs migrants about sexual and reproductive health in 14 languages.
The Zanzu information portal was launched as a joint German-Belgian project. The following were involved
- the Federal Institute of Public Health (BIÖG), formerly the Federal Center for Health Education (BZgA) for Germany
- the Flemish Expert Center for Sexual Health (Sensoa) for Belgium
The BIÖG is a specialized agency of the German Federal Ministry of Health. Its task is both the promotion of health and health education. The BIÖG is also the WHO Collaborating Center for Sexual and Reproductive Health.
Sensoa is the official partner organization of the Flemish Ministry of Prevention, Health and Family. It implements the Flemish government's directive on sexual health.
The content of this portal was supervised by an international panel of experts, including representatives of the WHO.
Zanzu is currently available in a German and a Belgian version. The texts and visuals on www.zanzu.de and www.zanzu.be differ in some places, for example when rights and laws of the respective country are presented. Sensoa is responsible for the content of the Belgian website and BIÖG is responsible for the content of the German website. Zanzu is also available in the Netherlands and Norway.
