Ultrasound scan
Examination which shows the foetus on a screen. The doctor or gynaecologist puts a slippery gel on your belly and moves the ultrasound device over your belly to produce an image of the foetus. The doctor will carry out an ultrasound scan several times during pregnancy to make sure your foetus is healthy and sometimes to determine the sex and the expected date of birth.
